3 Ways of Wearing Cigarette Trousers

"There is no need to dress like everyone else. It's much more fun to create your own look." - Twiggy

Who said that a suit is only for the office?! This season is all about cigarette trousers and I love it! Specifically, tailored trousers in classic patterns such as plaid, dogtooth, gingham and pin striped. The fun part of wearing an outfit with a piece like this, is mixing it up with different styles of clothing, that would transform your look, from office wear, to street style.

Rock & Edgy

Match it up with a band tee, leather jacket and ankle leather booties for an edgier look. Don't forget the retro accessories such as small and slim sunglasses and of course a bumbag. This outfit is a great one to wear if you have a busy day wandering around the city for errands as it is very convenient. The bumbag is my favorite accessory by far as it makes it so easy to have all your essentials together without carrying anything on your shoulders, leaving your hands free to hold your shopping bags and your coffee.

Chic & Sexy

For a night out pair it with its blazer and underneath wear, a lacey bodysuit or a bustier, to add one more of a feminine detail. You can put on a pair of classic pointy high heels, or the more comfortable choice, heeled ankle booties such as these I wore with my outfit. For the storage of my phone and wallet, I chose this little fur purse with a gold chain and my second accessory of this look was a bright red lipstick.

Casual & Sporty

The easiest look and one of my favorite ones is when you match up your trousers with a bright bold coloured jumper or sweater and sneakers. This casual outfit is one that you can wear all day from a coffee meet up, to a shopping spree or sightseeing and wandering around during the day, as it is super comfy. Pair it up with a backpack or a bumbag for a more comfortable strolling and a leather or bomber jacket, if it is too cold, and you are good to go!

Current Makeup Favorites

"Makeup is art, Beauty is spirit"

My everyday makeup routine has changed very much though the years. I have tried many products out there. From drugstore to high end and I truly believe that I discovered some real gems. Therefore this helped a lot to elect 7 products that I use to my everyday makeup routine constantly. These products are the ones I reach without even thinking about it and its all because the give me flawless glowy skin without me trying too much.

First and an the newest addition to this list is my  Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter in Moonstone. From the first use of this product I fell in love. It is pure glow captured in a bottle. Once you put it in your face you will be left with a "glow from within" highlight. It is not streaky, glittery or metallic. It has a sheen that it almost looks wet. I use it either to highlight the highest points of my face with a half pump, or mix one pump with two pumps of my foundation. For an extra glow I do them both.

Speaking of my foundation. The foundation I reach for the most is my Diorskin Forever. My skin texture goes from one hundred to a zero within seconds. Any pores, imperfections and dullness that I have on my face, disappear instantly. It also has 35 SPF protection which is a BIG plus for me. I prefer using a big kabuki brush applying it for a flawless application.

The one issue I had with my makeup has always been finding the perfect loose powder for my skin. Having an oily T zone, deep dark circles but an overall combination to dry base I could not find one powder that would bake the darkness underneath my eyes while control the shine at my T zone,  but not suck the radiance of the rest of my face. Well it seemed impossible till I tried the RCMA No-Colour Powder. This powder is so fine milled that as you place it on your face it will not show any colour but will settle ant problematic area you have without leaving your skin feeling cakey.  For better application I use a damp beauty blender at the areas I want to bake and the dust a little product around my face using a big fluffy brush.

Kat Von D's Shade and Light face palette is a palette that everyone that loves makeup raves about. And it is not without doubt a very easy to use palette. It includes 3 shades of highlight/setting powders and 3 shades of contour/bronzing shades. Personally, I mostly use the two first darker shades. The first one is a more cool tone one so it is perfect for contour and the second one is a very nice bronzing powder. With this palette I found out that , less is more. the pigmentation is amazing and with a little product you can achieve strong results.

Speaking of  pigmentation, Colourpop's lip products are the ones that do the job as they should! These lippies not only are great quality but also very inexpensive. My favourite of their products are the Ultra Satin Lips, the Ultra Glossy Lips and their Lippie Pencils. My most used specifically are the new ones from their collaboration with ILUVSARAHII. The combination of the Curvii Ultra Glossy lip and Curvii Lippie Pencil, makes your lips look fuller and healthy.

This is one product that a youtuber made me buy and let me say that I don't regret it at all! KathleenLights was raving about this Kiko Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara and so I had to try it. It is by far the most volumizing mascara I have ever tried in my life. It makes me look like I have falsies on and i love it. It is super black and a little clumpy but in a good way just so it makes my lashes look more than they actually are. The only thing I noticed is that after a good amount of time of wearing this mascara it start to flake at my undereye area. This is a con that I am willing to endure for the volume that it gives to my lashes.

Last but certainly not least, Mario Badescu Rose Water is a product that I do not use only on my makeup routine but also during the whole day. I use it as a priming facial spray, a setting facial spray and to refresh my makeup though the day. I also spray it on my face when I wake up to fresh up and before I sleep after i wash my face to moisture my face. The fact that it smells amazing is also it's an extra benefit.

Total Outfit with Current "Must-Haves"

"With Good Basics, You'll Have Endless Options."

So, let's begin this way. Open your wardrobe. Choose 5 items that never let you down when you wear them and that you always feel not only comfortable but, good in them. The "I look amazing" kind of good. These are your must-have items.

Of course if you love fashion these items might change after a while. I, personally, realised that some stay the same through a couple of seasons and others change constantly. I decided to incorporate my current 5 must-haves into a look to see what it would come from it.

A staple piece of my wardrobe has always been a graphic tee. For this season I love white t-shirts with red text on them. Red is one of my favourite colours to wear as it takes out the dullness of a basic outfit.

Another essential item that I believe that everyone must have is a good pair of straight-leg blue jeans. You can splurge for one if you are able to, or you can purchase a "steal" when you'll buy one at a vintage or a thrift shop. I chose to thrift mine and I could not be happier with the fit and the comfortability of it. I prefer straight leg jeans from skinny ones as they look more " put together" and stylish.

Winter requires outwear, and so the jacket I would mostly go for was my faux leather one. Black leather is always a classic piece to go for that can be combined with multiple colours, patterns and styles.

Black ankle high-heeled boots are THE type of shoes you need in your closet. I found out that I can wear them either up or down, depending on my whole outfit. With the right dress you can go out and about for a girls' night or a date and with a chic casual look you can go for a morning coffee or a shopping spree.

Last but not least the small retro sunglasses are the new trend and I'm all in for it! The best part is that my favourite ones are from Asos. I got away with a steal of the style with only 15 euros. Even though the ones I wear are out of stock at the moment I have linked other very similar ones, at the same price range and more expensive ones for the ones that want to splurge on some new sunnies, below.

Thrifting

I was always amused by the idea of getting vintage items. Getting something that has a story behind it and that was designed in a different era is very interesting. Let's not forget about the amazing prices and the "steals" you can find on designer items.
In our generation, in particular, fashion is inspired by past trends of years and years ago. You can find imitations of past styles on multiple clothing franchises, but having the chance to buy a piece of clothing, that was designed the era, that this trend was first introduced, is intriguing.

In Cyprus I find it difficult to get items such as these, so internet is my best friend lately. You can find amazing pieces on Asos Marketplace such as vintage leather bags, shoes, mom jeans, denim jackets, etc. My favourite boutique at the site is Avelina's Vintage. There you can find designer denims and it is my go-to place for vintage, reworked, LEVI'S jeans, and denim jackets. The fit is on point and the quality is the best !

As easy is to find products online my favourite way to buy vintage pieces is the organic one. The satisfaction of finding a "gem" in a pile of old and destroyed clothes is irreplaceable!  If no thrift stores are close to you, you can check your grandparents' closets and you might be surprised! My grandma's old wardrobe is my go to place whenever I feel like "shopping" without losing a dime.

Whatever you decide to do just remember to have fun and enjoy the process of finding your own style and identity. "The Joy of Dressing is an Art" John Galliano

Spring Asos Haul

As spring officially began, I was compelled to make a mini haul from Asos, to update my closet for the new season. 🌸🌺🌷

First off, I got a beautiful white tee with frills at the sleeves. I bought it as I thought that I could dress it either up or down. You could wear it with either a denim look and some sneakers or with chino trousers and loafers and look on point. I tried the new trend with the lace bralette with the certain top and it looks amazing. The sleeves are so much fun but also classy in a strange way!

The second piece I picked up was a pair of cropped faux leather jogger trousers. Spring season, is still leather season, so I bought this pair of trousers as they are also cropped and stretch fitted at the waist which make them really comfortable. The grey colour makes them very easy to wear with multiple colour schemes.

Last but certainly not least, I bought this really cute pink faux suede crop top. The lace up details on the side were the reason I knew I had to have it. It fits lovely and I can see me wear it with many playful outfits. It's a top that I will wear from spring to summer as it is very lightweight. Also pink is so in trend this season and I love it !πŸ‘Œ

Total Black

A total black outfit could be so much fun if it is done right, using the proper details and accessories. I really love combining clothing items with different aesthetic as it contributes in the whole outfit. For instance, the ankle boots and the leather bag, I have picked, give a modern feel to the look, but then, something really unique happens when you add a small detail of a different aesthetic, such as the lace choker I have on.

The black statement dress is my favourite part of this outfit as I really love the new trend of lace ups on clothes.  I find it really feminine, classy and sexy in the same time. The fact that it is in a smooth stretchy jersey material is a plus for me as it is really comfortable and hugs your curves in the right way.
